Meditation Class

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an internationally recognised, evidence-based 8-week program originally developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and his team at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in the late 1970s. Designed to help individuals manage stress and its associated symptoms through mindfulness meditation, the course is equally beneficial for anyone looking to enhance their overall well-being.

This online course will be led by Michael and Anna Broad (Mindful North), and all participants will receive a comprehensive course booklet to support their learning.

Following booking, all participants will be invited to attend a brief 1-1 online meeting with a course tutor. This is to provide an opportunity to discuss the course, address any questions that they may have, and for us to find out if they need any additional support

This course is currently offered to groups and organisations. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss the course further.

Course Fee (per participant): £235

Note: this fee can be negotiated depending on size of group.

What does the course entail?

This online, 8-week course features 2-hour sessions designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of mindfulness practice. We’ll cover everything from establishing a comfortable posture to integrating mindfulness into daily life. Each week, participants will learn new mindfulness meditation techniques, building a repertoire of practices to support their ongoing development.

During the sessions, after each meditation, there will be an opportunity to engage in an inquiry process where we can explore our experiences of the practice together. This is entirely optional, with no expectation to share. However, as the group dynamic grows, many participants find this to be a valuable and enriching part of their learning journey.

The course takes a secular approach but draws on teachings from a variety of traditions, alongside insights from current research. To help participants get the most out of the course, we encourage a commitment to practicing the techniques on your own for at least 5 out of 7 days each week.

On enrolment, all participants will receive a course handbook, and throughout the course, will have access to additional resources to support their practice and deepen theirunderstanding.
